On the evening of Saturday July 23, 2011 I had the distinct pleasure to attend a special press event after the Composers Panel<\/a> for Team WHR where we interviewed several of the talented individuals who make the series and movies we all love what they are. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These gifted person weave melodies seamlessly into the entertainment products we all enjoy and do so so in such a subtle fashion we are often unaware that our emotions and heartstrings are being played as beautifully as their music!

\n<\/span>\"Click<\/a>In this follow up Comic-Con 2011 news article, we will bring you exclusive “Round Table” video interviews conducted during the “Composers Press Room” near the Indigo Ballroom. The adjoining facilities at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel<\/a> across from the south end of main San Diego Convention Center were among the most organized and intimate of the entire weekend.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>“The Composers Press Room was attended by H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Muddiman<\/a> (panel moderator), Nathan Barr<\/a> (HBO\u2019s \u201cTrue Blood\u201d), Ramin Djawadi<\/a> (HBO\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones,\u201d Paramount Pictures’ \u201cIron Man\u201d), Robert Duncan<\/a> (ABC\u2019s \u201cCastle,\u201d WB\u2019s \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d), Danny Jacob<\/a> (Disney Channel\u2019s \u201cPhineas and Ferb\u201d), James Levine<\/a> (FOX\u2019s \u201cGlee,\u201d TNT\u2019s \u201cThe Closer\u201d), Edward Rogers <\/a>(Syfy\u2019s \u201cWarehouse 13\u201d), an<\/span><\/span>\"Click<\/a><\/span><\/span>d the legendary Christopher Young<\/a> (Columbia Pictures’ \u201cSpider-Man 3,\u201d New World Pictures\u2019 \u201cHellraiser\u201d). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nPress Release: About “The Composers”<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nathan Barr<\/strong> can currently be heard on one of HBO\u2019s hottest shows TRUE BLOOD. Having written and performed the music for all four seasons of this show, he has come a long way since working as an assistant to world-renowned composer Hans Zimmer. Barr has since composed original music for film and television. Film credits include: IFC Films’ THE LEDGE, Lionsgate\u2019s THE LAST EXORCISM, and Stonebrook Entertainment\u2019s OPEN HOUSE.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ramin Djawadi<\/strong> received a Grammy nomination for Paramount Pictures\u2019 IRON MAN, as well as Emmy nominations for ABC\u2019s FLASHFORWARDfor \u201cOutstanding Music Composition For A Series,\u201d and FOX\u2019s PRISON BREAK for \u201cOutstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.” Djawadi is currently scoring the original music for HBO\u2019s GAME OF THRONES and A&E\u2019s BREAKOUT KINGS. He recently completed MGM\u2019s RED DAWN, and is also working on Zoom Entertainment and Silver Screen Studios\u2019 THE CAMEL WARS and DreamWorks\u2019 FRIGHT NIGHT. He has collaborated with Hans Zimmer, co-composing and producing the score for Universal Pictures\u2019 THUNDERBIRDS, as well as collaborating on both Columbia Pictures\u2019 SOMETHING\u2019S GOTTA GIVE and Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 BATMAN BEGINS.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Robert Duncan<\/strong> is a Canadian composer of film and TV, currently scoring music for ABC\u2019s CASTLE, for which he was nominated for an Emmy. Other credits include: Foundation Feature\u2019s THE ENTITLED; FOX\u2019s THE CHICAGO CODE; FX\u2019s TERRIERS; ABC\u2019s THE GATES; FOX\u2019s LIE TO ME; CBS\u2019 THE UNIT; the WB\u2019s BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER; and FOX\u2019s TRU CALLING.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Danny Jacob<\/strong> is a three-time Emmy-nominated composer and producer of more than 300 original songs for the Disney Channel\u2019s mega-hit animated series, PHINEAS AND FERB. Influenced by his life-long experience as a world-class guitar player, Jacob bridges the worlds of score and song. As a featured guitarist, he has performed on DreamWorks\u2019 SHREK, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Picture; the Emmy-winning BETTE MIDDLER HBO CONCERT DIVA LAS VEGAS; and Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin\u2019s \u201cHeaven Help Us,\u201d which won the Grammy for Best Duet. Other credits include: Disney\u2019s LILO AND STITCH, Disney Channel\u2019s THE EMPEROR\u2019S NEW SCHOOL, and Kids\u2019 WB\u2019s JACKIE CHAN\u2019S ADVENTURES.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

James Levine<\/strong> is a film and television composer currently scoring original music for FOX\u2019s hit series, GLEE. He has won two BMI awards, and his credits include: TNT\u2019s THE CLOSER and RIZZOLI & ISLES; FX\u2019s NIP\/TUCK; CBS\u2019 NCIS: LOS ANGELES; FX\u2019s DAMAGES; and Paramount Pictures\u2019 THE WEATHER MAN. Levine has also provided additional music for DreamWorks\u2019 MADAGASCAR and Touchstone Pictures\u2019 PEARL HARBOR.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Edward Rogers<\/strong> is an Emmy-nominated composer for film, television and videogames. Prior to scoring original music for the Syfy network\u2019s hit series, WAREHOUSE 13, for which he received an Emmy nomination for \u201cOutstanding Original Main Title Theme Music,\u201d Rogers also brought the gritty streets of New York to life with his underscore for ABC\u2019s award-winning series, NYPD BLUE, for six years. He continued his collaboration with producer Steven Bochco on FX\u2019s acclaimed series, OVER THERE.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Christopher Young<\/strong> is one of the foremost talents in film music today. A Golden Globe-nominated composer, he has scored an impressive number of features in virtually every genre, all with strikingly original music. New World Pictures\u2019 spine-tingling HELLRAISER showcases the composer\u2019s seminal upbringing in horror; the new-techno sound of Warner Bros.\u2019 SWORDFISH displays his versatility; the resonant, genuine Celtic sounds of Miramax Films THE SHIPPING NEWS display his attention to detail; and the heart-pounding rhythms of Columbia Pictures\u2019 SPIDER-MAN 3 are all evidence of his willingness to experiment. These scores are among the nearly 100 films that embody the work of this prolific composer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Muddiman<\/strong> (Moderator) is a British film and television composer who recently scored ITV2\u2019s THE ONLY WAY IS ESSEX, a British award-winning reality show based in Essex, Southeast England. Muddiman is currently composing original music for Warner Bros.\u2019 HAPPY FEET 2 with composer John Powell who scored for Shrek and Happy Feet. She has provided music for the entertainment industry since she was 18 years old, and has written in a wide variety of musical styles for film, television, radio and multi-media advertisements. Muddiman has also worked on E4\u2019s SKIN starring the Oscar nominated Sophie Okonedo and Sam Neill, that can currently be seen on Showtime. Muddiman won many awards for SKIN\u2019s score and was nominated for a World Soundtrack Award and Ivor Novello Award<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
